Excess Green Waste Is Being Collected In 1 Rancho Palos Verdes Neighborhood This Saturday

A special collection of excess brush takes place in Palos Verdes this Saturday, but only for residents of one neighborhood.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — A special collection of excess brush takes place in Palos Verdes this Saturday, but only for residents of one neighborhood.

If your regular trash pickup day is Tuesday, then you're in luck; you'll be able to put old brush, shrubs, hedges, tree branches, and bushes out for a one-time collection this Saturday, April 4.

That's because each Saturday in April, the city's collecting green waste along a different trash route. Green waste may be in tied bundles, in designated green waste carts, and/or in other personal cans, according to the city.

"Greens placed in plastic bags will be accepted, however the use of plastic bags is discouraged due to possible contamination issues at the processing facilities," the city explained in a statement. "Loose material, trash or construction and demolition material will not be collected."

Next Saturday, April 11, green waste will be collected from residents whose normal trash pickup day is Wednesday.
