Gunshot Victim Found Under Cliff in Palos Verdes Estates

The body of a man who may have committed suicide was found over a cliff in Palos Verdes Estates today.

Firefighters sent to Paseo Del Mar and Chelsea Road about 9:30 a.m. spotted the victim about 250 feet down the cliffside, according to the county fire department.

The man, in his 20s, had suffered an apparent gunshot wound, and his death was being investigated as a possible suicide, said coroner’s Chief Craig Harvey.

Authorities withheld his name pending notification of his relatives.

Palos Verdes Estates police were investigating the death.
