Rancho Palos Verdes

PETTY THEFT

  • Theft - Aug. 13, 2023, between 4 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. - 5700 block of Sunmist Drive
    • Cash and a credit card were reported stolen according to authorities. No suspect information was available.

ASSAULT

  • Kidnapping - Aug. 17, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 30000 block of Palos Verdes Drive East
    • According to deputies, a person was assaulted and kidnapped by two other people in Rancho Palos Verdes. The first suspect was described as a bald white man in his 30s with a medium build. There was no description of the second suspect. No additional information about the incident was available.

BURGLARY

  • Business - Aug. 17, 2023, 5 a.m. - 2800 block of South Western Avenue
    • One suspect was arrested and four more were outstanding after a burglary at a business in Rancho Palos Verdes, authorities said. According to authorities, the suspects took cigarettes and cash from the store after cutting the security gate and smashing the glass front door to gain entry. The four outstanding suspects were described as Black men and were seen leaving the location in a blue 2017 Honda Accord.
  • Vehicle - Aug. 17, 2023, between 1 p.m. and 1:49 p.m. - 31000 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
    • Sunglasses, jewelry, a driver's license, debit cards, makeup and cash were reported stolen from a vehicle, deputies said. Authorities said the keyhole on the driver's side was damaged. No information about any suspects was available.
  • Residential - Aug. 10-18, 2023, between 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. - 6200 block of Ocean Terrace Drive
    • Jewelry, cash and a wallet were reported stolen from a home, deputies said. Authorities said the glass door on the second-story patio was shattered. No suspect information was available.

  • Bicycle - Aug. 13, 2023, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 28000 block of Peacock Ridge Drive
    • According to deputies, a bicycle was reported stolen but no other details were provided.
  • Attempt - Aug. 19, 2023, 5 a.m.- 1800 block of Santa Rena Drive
    • Deputies said two suspects attempted to steal a car, but were unsuccessful. According to authorities, the driver's side window was smashed and the door was punched. The first suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 30s who had a heavy build and black hair. There was no description available for the second suspect. The pair were seen leaving the location in a silver older model Dodge Hatchback, authorities said.
  • Jewelry - Aug. 19, 2023, 1:35 p.m. - 32000 block of Seawolf Drive
    • Jewelry was reported stolen, but authorities didn't specify from where it was taken. The first suspect was described as a heavy-set Asian man in his 50s with brown hair and brown eyes. The second suspect was described as an Asian woman in her 50s who wore traditional Middle Eastern clothing and a Hijab. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a newer model black SUV with tinted windows, chrome rims and silver running boards.

PETTY THEFT

  • Unlocked Vehicle - Aug. 15, 2013, between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - Cinchring Road
    • A wallet and handbag containing a driver's license and debit and credit cards were reported stolen from an unlocked car, authorities said. No information about any suspects was available.

Rolling Hills Estates

ASSAULT

  • Assault - Aug. 13, 2023, 2:38 p.m. - Silver Saddle Lane
    • A known suspect allegedly assaulted and took a cellphone from another person, according to authorities. No additional information about the incident was available.

SHOPLIFTING

  • Merchandise - Aug. 14, 2023, 6:10 p.m. - 900 block of Silver Spur Road
    • Three suspects were arrested in connection to a shoplifting incident where lotions, face creams and clothing were reported stolen, deputies said.
