Lomita Man Charged for Allegedly Choking Dad in Fight Over Room

Anthony Joseph Dileva, 35, pleaded not guilty to one count each of assault and elder abuse

A Lomita man who allegedly attacked his 78-year-old father was charged Tuesday with two felonies.

Anthony Joseph Dileva, 35, pleaded not guilty to one count each of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and elder or dependent adult abuse.

Dileva was arrested Sunday, after allegedly choking and shaking his father last Sunday during an argument about the defendant’s room.

He was ordered to be held in lieu of $50,000 bail while awaiting his next appearance Feb. 9 in a Torrance courtroom.

If convicted as charged, Dileva could face up to four years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
