Now Open: Fresh & Easy Express

Fresh & Easy Express in Palos Verdes Estates, which opened for business in June, is living out its claim as a "neighborhood market."

"Palos Verdes is more of an isolated area from our other locations in the region, so it truly is a neighborhood market," said Store Manager Jeff Silber. "It mostly serves the local residents."

Business at the market is booming, even though the summer months are generally less busy because many local customers are on vacation, Silber said.

More organic products might soon be offered at the location, a popular request among customers, he said.

In general, however, customers said they had few complaints and were happy to have a new grocery store in town.

"I love Fresh & Easy, it's exactly like the name says it is," said customer Deborah Giacalona. The Manhattan Beach resident was picking up some pre-prepared salads during her lunch break. "I work nearby, and I used to have to go into Hermosa for Fresh & Easy, but now I can get everything I need just a few minutes away."
