PALOS VERDES, CA — The following is the most recent Lomita Sheriff's Station crime blotter for the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Rancho Palos Verdes

PETTY THEFT

  • Mail - May 23, 2023, between 4:24 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. - 30000 block of Miraleste Drive
    • Packages were reported stolen, according to Sheriff's Station officials. No information about any suspects was available.

  • Auto - May 25, 2023, 1:32 p.m. - 27000 block of Longhill Drive
    • A Grey 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen, authorities said. No information about any suspect was available.

BURGLARY

  • Residential - May 25, 2023, 10:15 a.m. - 3900 block of Palos Verdes Drive South
    • Handbags were stolen from a home, and deputies said they found the sliding glass door at the back of the home smashed. The first suspect was described as a Black man between 30 to 35 years old who wore a hooded sweatshirt with a red and gold Porsche emblem on the front and dark shorts with a "CK" on the left side. The second suspect was described a s a Black man in his early 20s who wore a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey pants. The pair were seen leaving the location in a burgundy Dodge Durango with the rear license plate covered.
  • Residential - May 27-28, 2023, between 2:45 p.m. and 1:40 a.m. - 28000 block Ambergate Drive
    • A safe, baseball cards and jewelry were reported stolen from a home. Authorities said the rear glass door was smashed. No information about any suspects was available.
  • Vehicle - May 21, 2023, between 1 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. - 5900 block of Palos Verdes Drive South
    • A wallet, IDs, gift cards, cash and credit cards were reported stolen from a car. Authorities said the driver's side door lock was dented and damaged. No information about any suspects was available.
  • Vehicle - May 24-25, 2023, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. - 2800 block of San Ramon Drive
    • Clothes, jewelry, food containers, a basket, bags and a cell phone were reported stolen from a car. According to the Sheriff's Station, the trunk release button on the car was broken. No information about any suspects was available.

  • Mail - May 18-25, 2023, no specified time - Buckskin Lane
    • Over a period of a week, residents reported to the Sheriff's Station that their mail was being stolen. No information about any suspects was available.

ASSAULT

  • Assault - May 23, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. - San Miguel
    • One suspect was arrested after there was an assault in the San Miguel area, authorities said.

SHOPLIFTING

  • Business - May 24, 2023, at 6:20 p.m. - Peninsula Center
    • One suspect was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting detergents, authorities said.
  • Business - May 24, 2023, at 9:20 p.m. - Peninsula Center
    • Deputies said alcohol was stolen from an open business at the Peninsula Center. The suspect was described as an Asian man about 5 feet 6 inches tall and he was seen leaving the location in a grey Honda CRV.
  • Business - May 26, 2023, at 6 p.m. - Peninsula Center
    • According to the Sheriff's Station, food was reported stolen from a shop in the Peninsula Center. The suspect was described as a Black man about 5 feet 10 inches tall with black hair and he was seen leaving the location in a cream-colored four-door Lincoln sedan.

GRAND THEFT

  • Catalytic Converter- May 27-29, 2023, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. - Broken Bow Lane
    • The Sheriff's Station received reports of stolen catalytic converters in the area. No information about any suspects was available.
There were no crimes included in the Rolling Hills crime blotter during the reporting period according to the Lomita Sheriff's Station.
