Palos Verdes Crime Blotter: Suspected Car Thieves Arrested

PALOS VERDES, CA — The following is the most recent Lomita Sheriff's Station and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department crime blotter for the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Rancho Palos Verdes
PETTY THEFT
- Unlocked Vehicle - March 18-19, 2023, between 6 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. - 1800 block of Jaybrook Drive
- A wallet, driver's license, credit cards and cash were reported stolen from a silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata, according to the Lomita Sheriff's Station. No information was available about the suspect.
- Mail- March 20, 2023, at 5:18 a.m. - 7000 block of Abbottswood Drive
- According to the Lomita Sheriff's Station, a man wearing a light top allegedly took someone's mail. Authorities said the man left the location in a white SUV.
BURGLARY

- Attempt - March 22, 2023, at 5:15 a.m. - 26000 block of Fond Du Lac Road
- According to authorities, a suspect attempted to enter a home through a sliding door but was unsuccessful. The suspect was described as a white man with dark hair who wore blue jeans, a dark long sleeve top and a black "skull cup" covering his face.
GRAND THEFT
- Auto - March 19, 2023, between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. - 1800 block of Jaybrook Drive
- A silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen according to the Sheriff's Station. No information about the suspect was available.
- Auto - March 24, 2023 at 6:30 a.m. - 29000 block of Indian Valley Road
- A white 2008 Ford E-150 Econoline Van was reported stolen according to the Sheriff's Station. No information was available about the suspect.
SHOPLIFTING

- Open Business - March 25, 2023, at 7:25 p.m. - 900 block of Silver Spur Road
- Alcohol and food were reported stolen from an open store according to the Sheriff's Station. Authorities said there were three suspects who were seen leaving in a black Nissan Altima. The first suspect was described as a 45-year-old Black man with gray hair who wore a brown jacket and black jeans and a had a teal trash bag. The second suspect was described as a 50-year-old Black woman with black hair who wore a black shirt, black pants and two black tote bags. There was no description available for the third suspect.
Palos Verdes Estates
ARREST
- Impaired Driver - March 21, 2023, at 1:53 a.m. - 800 block of Paseo Del Mar
- According to PVEPD, officers saw an illegally parked car with a male driver and female passenger. Further investigation led to the arrest of the man for DUI police said.
- Drugs - March 23, 2023 at 12:16 a.m. - 1400 block of Paseo Del Mar
- PVEPD officials said they contacted two men in a car and, upon further investigation, arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
- Burglary Tools - March 23, 2023, at 2:22 p.m. - 500 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard
- According to PVEPD officials, an officer observed two men who appeared to be casing vehicles parked in the Bluff Cove area. The two men reportedly got into a car and drove away after they saw the officer watching them, prompting the officer to follow and conduct a traffic stop. Further investigation led to the arrest of three men for the possession of burglary tools, conspiracy to commit a crime and suspicion of burglary. Detectives said they believe the suspects are responsible for several car thefts in the area along the 600 block of Paseo Del Mar.
- Impaired Driver - March 24, 2023, at 2:39 a.m. - 600 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard
- During a routine traffic stop PVEPD officers arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence.
THEFT
- Mail - March 19, 2023, at 1:35 a.m. - 1300 block of Via Gabriel
- According to PVEPD, an unknown suspect who was caught on surveillance video was seen driving up to a residence and taking mail from the mailbox before driving off.
There were no crimes included in the Rolling Hills or Rolling Hills Estates crime blotter during the reporting period according to the Lomita Sheriff's Department.
