PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA - About 200 residences in Palos Verdes Estates have been warned not to drink or cook with their tap water.
California Water Service notified residents Monday night that a breach at a remote storage tank might have rendered the water unsafe. Residents were told to drink bottled water and save their receipts for reimbursement.
The affected areas include parts of Via Horquilla, Via Elevado, Via Campesina, Via Lazo and Via Somonte streets.

Officials with the water agency advised residents to check their website at www.calwater.com/ or call (310) 257-1400 for updates.
The state Division of Drinking Water was investigating the incident with local law enforcement.
