Rip Currents Expected for Next Five Days

The National Weather Service says the risk is especially high on south-facing beaches.

From the city of Rancho Palos Verdes:

The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for south-facing beaches in Los Angeles County from 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 through 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Large swells and strong rip currents are expected during this period.

Please be extra cautious if visiting the City’s beaches, and follow the instructions of County lifeguards, Sheriff’s patrols, park rangers and City Recreation & Parks Staff.
