South Bay Couple Donates $10 Million To USC For Vision Research
A retired Rancho Palos Verdes ophthalmologist and his wife chose USC after researching the country's leading eye institutes.

PALOS VERDES, CA – Retired Rancho Palos Verdes ophthalmologist Allen Ginsburg and his wife Charlotte Ginsburg donated $10 million to the USC Institute for Biomedical Therapeutics. The donation will go towards funding groundbreaking research to diagnose and treat diseases that cause blindness and other neurosensory disorders, according to Daily Breeze.
Ginsburg practiced ophthalmology for 25 years before retiring and going into real estate investing – which ended up being a very successful venture, the newspaper reported.
The couple chose USC after researching the country's leading eye institutes, according to Daily Breeze.
