South Bay Family Comes Home to Find Armed Burglar in the Act

A Manhattan Beach burglar was as startled as the residents who caught him in the act.

Some Manhattan Beach residents interrupted a burglary by a masked, armed gunman who fled as they arrived home, police said today.

It happened about 9:10 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of 11th Street, according to Manhattan Beach police.

“When the residents arrived home, they saw the suspect run out of the house carrying a black handgun,” according to a police statement.
