Thieves Steal Artist's Work Off San Pedro Gallery's Wall

The five suspects walked into the gallery and lifted the 3- by 6-foot mixed media artwork off the wall and walked out with it.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police are asking for help in tracking down a large painting stolen from a San Pedro art gallery.

On July 7, five suspects walked into the gallery at Sixth Street and Pacific Avenue, lifted the 3- by 6-foot mixed media artwork off the wall and walked out with it.

Called "Escondido," the piece was created by artist Neil Nagy in 2004.

The suspects were described as four men and a woman about 18 to 24 years old, either white or Hispanic. Two of the men were carrying skateboards.

An unspecified reward is being offered for the painting, which is valued at about $10,000, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
