Three Men Get Stuck in Tidepool at Base of Cliff Near Abalone Cove

Lifeguards and air units were called but were not needed for a rescue.

Three men in their 20s were rescued by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics today when they became stuck in the tidepool at the base of the cliff near Abalone Cove.

Paramedics were called to the site at 4:18 p.m. near Palos Verdes Drive and Narcissa Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said.

One of the men had to be treated for minor cuts. He then joined with the other two men in making their way up the cliff.

Lifeguards and air units were called but were not needed for a rescue, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. David Avila of Fire Station 53 said.
