Trio in Rancho Palos Verdes Hot Prowl Linked to Another Burglary
The three teenagers were arrested following a short pursuit Tuesday. Jewelry recovered from their car was matched to another robbery.

The three suspects, an 18-year-old man and two teenage boys, arrested Tuesday in a hot-prowl burglary was linked to another residential burglary in Rancho Palos Verdes, sheriff’s deputies said.
Jewelery found in the getaway vehicle was matched to another burglary in the area, sheriff’s Det. Sgt. Thomas Arellano said.
On Tuesday, a little before noon, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a burglary on Indian Rock Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes. Two suspects entered the home through a window and was quickly confronted by the homeowner, Arellano said.

The two ran from the scene into a getaway car where the third suspect was waiting. A short pursuit followed and ended when the car failed to navigate a turn, hit a curb and came to rest against a tree, according to the sheriff’s department report. Two suspects were arrested shortly after, the third was arrested later when he tried to hitch a ride with an unmarked, undercover police car.
Jewelry found in the car matched the description of another victim who was reporting a robbery, Arellano said. The jewelry was reunited with its owner at the sheriff’s station that day, he said.

The 18-year-old suspect was identified as Devontae Miller, 18, of Los Angeles. The names of the two juvenile suspects were not released because they are minors. They were identified as a 16-year-old boy from Long Beach and a 17-year-old boy from Los Angeles.
Authorities believe the three are part of a gang but have not been able to confirm.
