Two Arrested in Rancho Palos Verdes Golf Course Attack

Police on Wednesday arrested two men suspected of attacking another man at Los Verdes Drive.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting another man at a Rancho Palos Verdes golf course nearly six months ago, authorities said today.

The victim was inside a reception hall at the Los Verdes Golf Course in the 7000 block of Los Verdes Drive on May 9 awaiting a ride when the suspects “approached him, became aggressive and told him to leave,” according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Parks Bureau.

“When he didn’t leave immediately the two suspects started punching him in the face and body,” according to the statement. “The victim ran and called 911. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.”

The suspects fled after the attack, but investigators learned their identities and on Tuesday arrested Philip Jule Daro, 30, of Los Angeles and Jeffrey Stephen Gage, 32, of Torrance on suspicion of mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon, officials said.

Both were booked at the sheriff’s Lomita Station where their bail was set at $100,000 each.
