What's Going on at Terranea Resort These Days

With the summer officially coming to a close this week, Terranea Resort is gearing up for some of their special fall events and culinary programming sure to keep it’s guests enjoying the beautiful, warm Palos Verdes weather.

Pinks on the Patio: Beginning now, the Lobby Bar at Terranea will offer their annual Pinks on the Patio wine and cocktail menu to benefit the Los Angeles Breast Cancer Alliance. The menu includes a selection of rose’ wines both by the glass or bottle, and a variety of specialty pink-themed cocktails at to be enjoyed at the bar or on the lobby patio. Roses by the glass will be offered from $11 - $15, bottles $32 - $55, and cocktails at $11 - $15.

Oktoberfest on Sunset Bluff: On Saturday, September 27th Terranea will celebrate Oktoberfest on the Sunset Bluff at Nelson’s, the on-property sports bar and grill. The event, which coincides with LA Beer Week, will feature craft beers from local breweries including Green Flash Brewing Company, Golden Road Brewery, and Angel City Brewery. San Pedro Brewing will showcase Terranea Resort’s 5th Anniversary Ale, created distinctly for Terranea, and guests can enjoy special menu offerings and live music to ring in Oktoberfest. Pint Night at Nelson’s: To follow-up to LA Beer Week, Nelson’s will run a special Pint Night every Wednesday evening through December 31st. Each Wednesday, Nelson’s will highlight a local brewery, offering discounted pints for $5 that include a logoed pint glass to take home. Pint Night will also run a special Blue Plate Special for $20 nightly, which just happens to be BBQ Ribs on Pint Night, perfect!

To celebrate National Coffee Day, on Monday, September 29th, sea beans, Terranea’s gourmet café will offer a free small coffee with the purchase of any breakfast sandwich.

PV Land Conservancy Dinner: On October 5th, the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy will co-host an farm-to-table dinner with Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra at Terranea’s flagship dining destination, mar’sel. The dinner, which will benefit the efforts of the PVLC, will emphasize handcrafted, organic and sustainable products, featuring ingredients from local farms and artisans as well as from mar’sel’s edible garden. Every ticket for the event includes entry in an opportunity drawing to win a Gourmet San Diego Getaway for two. Tickets are offered at $250, and for more information please visit www.pvplc.org.

Halloween Weekend Room Deal: Terranea will be offering a special BOGO room rate for Halloween. Guests booking a room on Friday, October 31 will receive a complimentary second night on Saturday, November 1st.

bashi Restaurant: bashi, Terranea Resort’s Asian-inspired restaurant, will now be offering a Happy Hour on Sundays – Thursdays from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., and a late night Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m., and new hours for sushi service. The Sunday –Thursday Happy Hour will include $5 draft beer and $6 bottled beer, $10 well cocktails, a special priced sake menu and half off sushi rolls and food specials. The sushi hours will now run daily from 2 p.m. – close. Bashi’s late night Happy Hour will feature a selection of specials from Chef Bruce Nguyen including Chicken Wings, Wok Charred Shishito Peppers, Edamame, Crispy Chicken Dumplings and more. The late night Happy Hour will also include half off all sake, $5 draft beer and $6 bottles of beer.

Catalina Kitchen: Catalina Kitchen will be offering special menus on Sunday - Wednesdayevenings beginning this week. Monday’s feature is a prix fixe menu, $32 for adults and $18 for children ages 5 – 10, complete with an appetizer, salad, main course and desert between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday night, between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., will be “Tapas Tuesday” featuring cheese plates, bacon wrapped dates filled with blue cheese, calamari, Santa Barbara Spot Prawns, and more. Wednesday nights “Wine Wednesday” will include great discounts on wine. Guests will have the option to purchase half priced bottles of wine up to a $60 value and receive $25 off bottles priced between $60 - $100. Similarly, Catalina Kitchen will also now offer a three-course Sunday Prime Rib prix fixe dinner, $28 for adults and $16 for children, featuring roasted Prime Rib, mascarpone mashed potatoes and asparagus for the main course.
