Woman Ejected From Car, Killed In Crash In Palos Verdes Estates
A woman died in a car crash after her truck slammed into a tree and overturned, ejecting her from the vehicle and injuring her passenger.
PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — A woman was killed in a car crash after her truck slammed into a tree and overturned, ejecting her from the vehicle and injuring her passenger, according to authorities.
According to the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department, officers responded to the call about the collision on Aug. 31 at about 12:44 p.m. in the 1700 block of Palos Verdes Drive West.
Preliminary investigation of the crash revealed that the Toyota Tundra was traveling south when it struck the curb that borders the center median, PVEPD said. From there the truck struck a tree, overturned and the female driver was ejected.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department treated both of the vehicle's occupants at the scene for their injuries.
"Unfortunately, the female driver succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male passenger was transported to Harbor UCLA Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries," PVEPD said in a statement.

The investigation of the crash shut down southbound Palos Verdes Drive West for about five and a half hours, according to police. The investigation is still ongoing, PVEPD said.
