Fire Forces Evacuation Of High-Rise Pasadena Senior Living Center

Dozens were evacuated and two were treated for injuries at the scene when a fire broke out on the 6th floor of a senior living facility.

PASADENA, CA — Firefighters in Pasadena tackled an apartment fire in a a high-rise senior living facility that forced the evacuation of dozens of seniors Monday afternoon.

The blaze broke out on a sixth floor unit of a senior living complex in the 200 block of Cordova Street in Pasadena. More than two dozen residents were evacuated, and two people were evaluated at the scene for possible injuries, though no one required a trip to a hospital, according to Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and authorities did not release a damage estimate.
