Highway 2 Motorcycle Track Day at Willow Springs

There's a sense of community - several overlapping and intertwined communities - among the motorcycle riders who enjoy Angeles Crest Highway. Many of them also participate in track days. Some of them race. Some of them are motorcycle instructors, others own motorcycle specialty shops, and some just love to ride.

On Saturday, December 14, they'll bring their passion to Willow Springs Raceway to ride Horse Thief Mile, a twisty, turn-filled track with elevation changes created to emulate the conditions of canyon riding.

The Highway 2 Track Day, hosted by the non profit Redbird, welcomes seasoned locals as well as those who could use some seasoning. There will be a number of riders willing to lead, follow or mentor those who want to work on their skill and style in a controlled environment.

There are a total of forty slots available at $125.00 each. Refreshments and photos are included in this very reasonable price.

Riding on the track does come with some requirements. You need to have full protective gear. Your suit can be one piece or two piece. Reinforced riding jeans are not allowed. Motorcycle boots and gloves are a must. Helmets must be ECE/DOT approved. Any kind of motorcycle is welcome, but it must not leak any fluids. Preparations include taping over (or removing) glass - headlights, mirrors, turn signals, brake lights. Your tires must be in excellent to very good condition. Racing tires are not a requirement.
