"Lost Memories" Will Be Shown at Pasadena Senior Center June 8

“Lost Memories,” a four-part miniseries, will be shown Tuesday, June 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St. The event is free and open to the public.

Starring Elba Escobar, Luis Alberto Aracena, Leticia LaBelle and Renata Ortiz Mena, the miniseries follows the fictional East L.A. Ramirez family that rises up to overcome stigma and conflict as they confront the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease when Grandma Gloria begins to show signs of memory loss.

Each episode, between seven and 10 minutes in length, will be followed by a discussion about the warning signs, diagnosis process, disease progression and challenges a family can face before they are able to come together.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases.

The event will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association. Anyone who has family members diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or simply wants to learn more about the disease is encouraged to attend. Reservations are required: call (626) 685-6732.
