Pacific Asia Museum Prepares for Third Lunar New Year Festival
The free Feb. 2 event will feature a children's dance group from China, arts and crafts.

It's nearing time to celebrate the Year of the Snake, and the Pacific Asia Museum plans to ring it in with its third annual Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, Feb. 2.
The event, which begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m., will feature a stage hosting performances ranging from a lion dance to the Xiao Hong Hua children's dance group, who hail from Nanjing, China. There will also be food trucks, arts and crafts along with visiting artists displaying different Chinese art forms. The art forms include paper cutting, lantern making and Suzhou silk art.
The dance group and the visiting artists are part of the event thanks to a partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, according to a release from the museum.
