Pasadena City College's Former President Favored To Take Helm At City College of San Francisco

PASADENA, CA — City College of San Francisco officials today announced Mark Rocha as lead candidate for chancellor.

Rocha has served as superintendent and president of Pasadena City College, president at West Los Angeles College and associate dean and tenured faculty at Cal State Northridge.

His most recent position was as senior program manager in the New York Governor's Office of Storm Recovery. Rocha has a doctorate in English from the University of Southern California, a master's degree in engineering from California State University at Fullerton and a bachelor's degree from Villanova University.

The CCSF board will vote on Rocha's contract in open session on June 22, with Rocha expected to begin work on July 1 if he is appointed.

"We are impressed with Dr. Rocha's qualifications and experience in higher education," said Thea Selby, board president. "Throughout the open forums and search process, Dr. Rocha consistently received high rankings from our constituency groups, particularly our students."
