Pasadena Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Los Robles Avenue

The driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe remained at the scene in Pasadena after striking and killing a 29-year-old man in the street.

PASADENA, CA — A pedestrian was struck by an SUV and killed in Pasadena, police said Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Pasadena man died at the scene of his injury, which occurred about 10:30 p.m. Monday on Los Robles Avenue south of Parke Street, the Pasadena Police Department reported.

Authorities withheld his name, pending family notification.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man was walking across Los Robles Avenue and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.

The motorist remained at the scene and did not appear to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said. He was not arrested.

"Investigation suggests that the pedestrian was possibly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, and this may have been a contributing factor in the incident," police said.
