Pasadena Tree Lighting Ceremony Welcomes the Holiday Season

With singers, dancers, art and an appearance by Santa, Pasadena City Hall will be aglow with the holidays during the lighting of the city’s holiday tree.

Spectators can join Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard as he will light the city’s official holiday tree during a celebration Thursday, Dec. 6 at City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave., from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Miss Pasadena 2013 Amanda Alissa Perez, 21, will join the mayor in the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Rotunda.

There will be performances by Pasadena Idol 2012 winner Chelsea J, the Blair IB Singers from Blair High School, the Hamilton Dance Troupe and the Hamilton Adventure Program Singers – both from Hamilton Elementary School.

Pasadena’s Armory Center for the Arts will host international holiday crafts for children. The Pasadena Fire Department will also collect new, unwrapped toys from attendees for needy children as part of the annual “Spark of Love” Toy Drive.
