Pasadena Woman Allegedly Killed By Her Son Identified

Police identified a woman who was allegedly stabbed to death by her son Tuesday.

PASADENA, CA — Authorities Wednesday identified a Pasadena woman allegedly stabbed to death by her son, who police say called them and said he killed his mother.

Alex Evans, 30, of Pasadena, was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Mentor Avenue, where police found the victim dead from multiple stab wounds, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Evans was being held on $2 million bail.

The woman was identified by the coroner's office as 67-year-old Katrina Evans.

"Police ... received a call from a man stating he killed his mother," according to a police statement. "Police dispatch kept the suspect on the line while officers responded to the scene."

There was no immediate word on a possible motive for the attack.
