Camerata Pacifica is a chamber music ensemble comprised of the finest performers of chamber music from around the world. The ensemble is distinctive for artistic excellence, an innovative approach to classical music and a repertoire that ranges from baroque to brand new compositions, from familiar masterworks to those that have yet to become favorites. 20 ODE TO THE MOTHERLAND

The grand melodrama “Ode to the Motherland” brings you back to the classical memories.

The grand free-screenings-change melodrama “Ode to the Motherland” is the patriotic work created by Shanghai playwright Qu Xinhua.

The ode depicts the memories of Wang Xin, the composer of lyrics and music of “Ode to the Motherland,” and his wife Wang Huifeng will be there to present the process of creation and its influence on all of Chinese people around the world.

The story illustrates the difference between the old and new societies of China and the symbolism of the contrast, which intertwine various emotions and compound a classical song, combining history and today. This drama is full of details and vivid dialogues and uses the combination of sounds, lights and eclectics.

28 THE NATIONAL SINGER PROJECT

The National Singer Project is an Armenian singing competition series produced by SHANT Television, an Armenian commercial broadcast television network. The project gives the opportunity to young artists to compete against each other performing Armenian ballads from the 18th and 19th centuries.

The genre has historic roots extending to the early years of the 18th century music composed and performed by Sayat Nova, an Armenian poet, musician and “ashough” (balladeer, troubadour).

The lyrics describe emotions such as love and loss. Also, Armenian classical instruments are used heavily. The finalists of the National Singer Project will preform live at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, bringing the folk music to the Armenian American audience.
