- Staging. Based on the survey, you could spend as little as $75 and see an increase in selling price of $3,000-plus. That’s a return on your investment of more than 4,500 percent -- and this simple step is one of the biggest returns you’ll see when looking at a variety of steps you can take to prepare your home for sale.
- De-cluttering/cleaning. You can spend less than $100 on this and be rewarded with an increase in selling price that is between $1,000 to $1,499. The same goes for investing approximately that amount in lightening/brightening your home before adding it to the Pasadena real estate market.
- Flooring. The average investment of $1,250 can raise your home’s sales price by $2,000 to $3,000. ROI, on average, is 100 percent.
- Updating kitchen/bathrooms. Spending a little over $3,000 could result in an increase in selling price of $5,000-plus. Kitchen and bathroom updates are highly appealing to buyers. Such an investment would certainly make your home more competitive in the Pasadena real estate market, even if the ROI is not quite as high. The same goes for interior and exterior paint.
