'Suspicious' Item Evacuates Metro Gold Line's Memorial Park Station
The discovery Tuesday of a "suspicious" item that turned out to be harmless triggered an evacuation.

PASADENA, CA - The discovery Tuesday of a "suspicious" item that turned out to be harmless triggered an evacuation of the Metro Gold Line's Memorial Park station in Pasadena and the temporary activation of a shuttle service for patrons.
The Pasadena Police Department received a call around 5:25 a.m. regarding the unattended item -- described as a black, five-gallon bucket with a pole sticking out -- on the station platform at 125 E. Holly St. A sheriff's arson/explosives team, utilizing a robot, determined that it was harmless, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Normal service resumed about 7:45 a.m., said Metro's Dave Sotero.
