Teen Injured When Car Slams Into Pasadena Liquor Store
A two-vehicle crash sent a car careening into a liquor store, shutting down North Lake Avenue Tuesday.
PASADENA, CA — One person was critically injured late Tuesday afternoon when a car slammed into the brick exterior wall of a Pasadena liquor store, shutting down traffic on a major thoroughfare.
The crash was reported about 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Lake Avenue, according to Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
The Honda Accord went about five feet into Showcase Wine & Spirits at 1392 N. Lake Ave., she said.

The injured patient, who's in his late teens, was taken to a hospital, Derderian said. His name was not released.
Police were questioning three other people who were in the vehicle, which was reported by witnesses to have been traveling southbound when it crashed into the building on the north side of the street, according to Derderian.

An urban search-and-rescue team was summoned to assess the structural integrity of the building, she said.
The crash closed Lake Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Rio Grande Street, according to Derderian, who said hundreds of bottles of booze were smashed.
