Urban Harvester is a South Pasadena-based non-profit that connects Southern California agencies feeding those in need with excess food from grocery stores, restaurants and professional kitchens. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21 and get ready to celebrate Urban Harvester’s first ever fundraising event, “An Evening at Fresco". Guests will enjoy fun festivities including wine and beer tastings, delicious lite bites, and a bountiful silent auction. The event will take place from 8 to 11PM at Fresco Community Market located adjacent to South Pasadena at 5914 Monterey Road, Los Angeles, CA 90042
"We are excited to partner with our friends at Fresco Community Market in this event" says Linda Hess, Founder of Urban Harvester. "The food, drinks, and festive atmosphere will provide a great opportunity to enjoy a summer evening while knowing that the event's proceeds will help address hunger and unnecessary food waste throughout Southern California. We are also thrilled to recognize award winning photographer Henk Friezer and South Pasadena City Council member Mike Cacciotti for exemplary community action in the area of hunger and food waste.”
"Urban Harvester’s mission is consistent with ours as Fresco is also committed to supporting our local community” says Jon Murga, president of Fresco Community Market. “From stocking our store with many healthy organic foods to hiring the homeless as our employees, we work hard to make our community a better place. We appreciate Urban Harvester’s mission and its effort to address hunger by proper food distribution in Southern California.”

Come savor wines from some of Central and Northern California's favorite vineyards plus premium local hand-crafted beers. Silent auction shoppers may bid on many packages including tickets to sporting events, movie studio tours, wellness and spa packages, and luxurious accommodations.
Urban Harvester was founded in South Pasadena in 2009. Urban Harvester’s scalable Food Redistribution Program is feeding thousands of people in need with fresh, healthy food. Last year alone, the non-profit recovered over $200,000 of fresh food - totaling 30,000 meals - allowing agencies to redirect their funds toward their other rehabilitation, education, and housing programs. Additionally, 20 tons of food was redirected away from landfills.
