The wife of meteorologist Dallas Raines was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to attacking the couple's 25- year-old daughter.

PASADENA, CA - The wife of ABC7 meteorologist Dallas Raines was sentenced Friday to probation after pleading guilty to attacking the couple's 25- year-old daughter as the women were on their way home from a La Canada country club.

Danielle Raines, 58, of Pasadena, entered her plea to a felony count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.

Danielle Raines was drinking wine with her daughter at a country club Aug. 31 when she became belligerent and struck her as she prepared to drive her mother home, according to the District Attorney's Office.

On their way home, Danielle Raines resumed the attack, causing the younger woman to pull over.

Danielle Raines then continued beating her daughter and tried to strangle her before she managed to escape, prosecutors said.

She was sentenced to three years of formal probation and a hearing for a progress report was set for Feb. 3.
