Search For Missing Petaluma Teen Ends

PETALUMA, CA — A 16-year-old who left home without notice and was not seen for several days is back at home with his family, bringing relief to a community that closely followed the case and shared an outpouring of concern and support.

Chace Finn was found "safe and in good health" on Sunday evening, the Petaluma Police Department reported. "He has since been reunited with his parents in Petaluma."

Finn’s disappearance drew widespread attention across social media and local networks, where residents circulated his photo, tracked updates, and expressed hope for his safe return. Messages of encouragement and prayers for his family poured in during the search.

Finn was last seen getting off alone at the Petaluma North SMART station at about 10:50 p.m. on April 29, police said. He left the station on foot toward Corona Road. He was also reported in downtown Petaluma that afternoon. Authorities were also investigating whether he may have traveled to a friend’s home in Windsor.

The teen does not carry a phone or any electronic device, limiting investigators’ ability to track his movements, police said at the time. Police classified Finn as at risk due to his age and the circumstances of his disappearance.

Following news of his safe return, relief quickly spread online. "Thank God. This is good news for his family, especially his mom!" one woman wrote on Facebook.
