PETALUMA, CA — Four teenagers ranging from 15 to 17 years old — including two wanted on felonies — were chased down and arrested after stealing merchandise from Target, Petaluma police said.
The four were taken into custody on Thursday after an officer patrolling Johnson Drive was flagged down by a witness. The four fled on foot through the Martin Circle neighborhood and across several residential backyards before being apprehended.
During the pursuit, the suspects discarded the stolen merchandise in several backyards. Officers recovered the stolen property, and it was returned to the business.
All four of the teens were from Santa Rosa and were booked into Juvenile Hall. Two had outstanding felony warrants and a third had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, police said.
The teens included a 15-, 16- and 17-year-old accused of possession of burglary tools and grand theft; resisting/delaying a peace officer and conspiracy. One was also accused of giving false identification.
