SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Airport parking and two additional land purchases top Tuesday's Sonoma County Supervisors agenda carrying millions in county spending.
This includes a plan to negotiate the purchase of property for new airport parking and consider acquiring two additional nearby parcels as supervisors weigh several real estate deals surrounding Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.
Supervisors will discuss in closed session buying several pieces of property near the airport. One, at 3580 N. Laughlin Road, is specifically being considered for new airport parking.
In a separate deal, the county is exploring the purchase of two additional nearby parcels in the Westwind Business Park area, although the agenda does not say how the county would use them.
One of those parcels, identified by the county as APN 059-370-034, also appeared in environmental studies for the neighboring 165-room Hyatt Place hotel project. The hotel itself is associated with an adjoining parcel and is a private development, not a county project.
Beyond real estate, Health Services is seeking approval for up to $669,500 for polling, community outreach, feasibility analyses, and other services involving Measure O. The money would come from General Fund contingencies.
Supervisors will also consider forgiving another $500,000 of the county's original $10 million loan to the RED Housing Fund after receiving its 2025 annual report and audited financial statements.
The Sonoma County Water Agency is seeking approval for two structural engineering contracts worth a combined maximum of $2.5 million. The agency's board will also discuss appointing an interim general manager in closed session.
At 10:15 a.m., supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Sonoma County Government Center. The board will take comments before staff prepares responses and a Final EIR.
Supervisors will also consider changes to vineyard and orchard regulations, receive an update on mobile crisis services, and consider the financing plan for the West Sonoma County Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District.
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, Aug. 18, beginning at 9 a.m. at 575 Administration Drive in Santa Rosa.
