Petaluma City Schools mulls cell tower ban on district property (pressdemocrat.com) — Petaluma City Schools trustees are weighing a ban on new cell towers and lease renewals on district property, including the existing T‑Mobile tower at Casa Grande High School. The board will vote Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. at 200 Douglas St., and parents and trustees are split over health concerns, revenue loss and whether towers pose proven safety risks.
2. Bridge City Sinners Hitting The Road This Rocktober (antimusic.com) — Bridge City Sinners are bringing their genre-blending "Trick or Treat" tour to Petaluma's Mystic Theatre on October 27, giving local fans a Halloween-season show close to home. The Portland-born band mixes eerie ballads, rowdy singalongs, and bluegrass-punk energy, and this Petaluma stop is part of a short West Coast run before they head to Texas with Streetlight Manifesto.
3. Grocers pull single lot of Miyoko's Creamery plant-based butter from shelves over E. coli concern (pressdemocrat.com) — A single lot of Miyoko's plant-based butter has been recalled over E. coli concerns, and shoppers are urged to discard or return the affected packages. The company, which is headquartered in Petaluma after closing its local production plant, says the issue involves one specific product code and expiration date, but residents who buy Miyoko's should double-check their fridges.
4. High School Flag Football: St. Helena learning, grinding through first season (napavalleyregister.com) — St. Helena's new flag football team has already notched a 6-0 win over Petaluma High and will travel to Petaluma again later this season aiming for a sweep. Coaches say the Saints are still learning fundamentals while navigating a tough Vine Valley Athletic League schedule, but believe the team's athleticism and steady improvement will pay off by season's end.
