$100,000 Race Car Stolen in Car Theft Recovered in Storage Yard
The custom 1967 Mustang Fastback was found in Oakland.

Police Friday found a highly valuable race car that was stolen from in front of a San Ramon home on Tuesday parked in an Oakland storage yard. The car, a custom 1967 Mustang Fastback race car, was sitting in a trailer attached to a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the driveway of a home on Toltec Circle in San Ramon when it was stolen on Tuesday, according to San Ramon police.
An unknown person or persons drove away with the pickup truck with the trailer still attached. The pickup was found in Oakland earlier today, and police asked the California Highway Patrol to search the nearby area by helicopter. The helicopter unit spotted a trailer matching the description inside a storage yard at Railroad Avenue and Clara Street in Oakland.

Police served a warrant at the yard Friday evening around 7:15 p.m. and found the stolen trailer with all identifying decals removed. The Mustang was inside and undamaged. Police did not locate anyone inside the storage yard and the are still searching for suspects in the theft.
The San Jose Mercury News reported the race car is valued at $100,000.
