23-Year-Old Oakland Man Dies in Car Crash into Tree

The man was found dead when they arrived.

A 23-year-old man died when a car crashed into a tree in Oakland early this morning, according to the Oakland Police Department. Police responded at about 12:10 a.m. to the 1000 block of 98th Avenue to investigate the crash.

There they found Oakland resident Juan Manzo, who was a passenger in the car, police said. Paramedics with the Oakland Fire Department pronounced Manzo dead at the crash site, according to police. Police said they do not know whether alcohol was involved in the crash.
