9 Former Cal Players On To NFL Playoffs Divisional Round
Seven of the eight teams remaining in the NFL Playoffs have at least one former Golden Bear on their roster, according to Cal Athletics

The Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs for the league’s 2014 season will feature nine former Cal players in games scheduled next Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 10-11. Seven of the eight teams remaining in the NFL Playoffs have at least one former Golden Bear on their roster including all four NFC squads.
C.J. Anderson (Denver), Marshawn Lynch (Seattle), Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay), Richard Rodgers (Green Bay) and Shane Vereen (New England) are scheduled to make their playoff debuts during the Divisional Round. Thomas DeCoud (Carolina), Justin Forsett (Baltimore) and L.P. Ladouceur (Dallas) were on squads that advanced by winning Wild Card Round contests while Ron Rivera coached Carolina to its victory. Brandon Mebane is also on injured reserve for Seattle.

Vereen and AFC top seed New England will host Forsett and No. 6 Baltimore in the first Divisional Round game on Saturday, Jan. 10 (1:35 pm PT, NBC). Lynch and top NFC seed Seattle will welcome a No. 4 Carolina squad coached by Rivera and with DeCoud on its roster in Saturday’s second Divisional Round contest (5:15 pm PT, FOX).
No. 2 NFC seed Green Bay and both Rodgers’ will host No. 3 Dallas in the first game Sunday(10:05 am PT, FOX) before Denver welcomes the only remaining team without a former Cal player on its roster in No. 4 Indianapolis in Sunday’s second contest (1:40 pm PT, CBS).

Nine former Cal players – Anderson (AFC West), DeCoud (NFC South), Ladouceur (NFC East), Lynch (NFC West), Mebane (NFC West), Rivera (NFC South), Aaron Rodgers (NFC North), Richard Rodgers (NFC North) and Vereen (AFC East) – contributed to seven of the eight teams that won regular-season Division titles, while Forsett and the Ravens made the playoffs as a Wild Card from the AFC North.
Lorenzo Alexander (Arizona) and Jeremy Ross (Detroit) were also both on teams that made the NFL Playoffs as a Wild Card and among 11 former Golden Bears that finished the 2014 regular season on active rosters of NFL playoff teams. Arizona was eliminated by Carolina on Saturday, while Detroit defeated Dallas on Sunday. Marvin Jones was on injured reserve for a Cincinnati team that saw its season end Saturday with a Wild Card loss to Pittsburgh.
