Acting Students Play Themselves Doing Shakespeare
In "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)," the Bard's dramas are done over in drag, rap, and as a cooking show in just two acts!
"It's us, being goofy and fun."
That's how advanced acting student Danielle Raskin described her class's production of , which opened Thursday and continues through the weekend.
The script calls for the actors to play themselves on stage, improvising and making up their own laugh lines as they breeze through hillariously abbreviated versions of Shakespeare classics. Senior Sarah Yarkin said the many jokers in the group have proven to be up to the challenge.

The actors have only rehearsed for about six weeks, splitting into small groups to refine their distinctive marks on the show.
Two casts are performing on consecutive nights—the Purple cast on Thursday and Friday, the Gold cast on Saturday and Sunday. Andrew Gage, also a senior, says while 90 percent of the lines will be the same, with different personalities, blocking, and directing, the two casts' performances will be unique.
