Alameda County Superior Court Extending Customer Service Hours in Some Divisions
The hours are being extended to improve customer service and reduce wait times, officials said.

Customer service hours in seven divisions of the Alameda County Superior Court are being extended until 4:30 p.m. each day, court officials have announced.
Hours in the civil, criminal, juvenile, family law, court records and appeal’s unit divisions are being extended to improve customer service and reduce wait times, officials said.
Officials conducted a pilot project for the civil division that started October 1 and is now committing to extend the hours in that division.

Officials say they are not adding staff as they extend service hours and say that the court continues to operate with 25 percent fewer employees than it did five years ago.
The staff reductions were the result of budget cuts, officials say.
