Alternative Gift Market at Piedmont Community Church
3 Sundays: Dec. 7, 14 and 21. Don't miss this wonderful, socially responsible alternative to traditional Christmas gift giving.

Each holiday season for the past twelve years, the Alternative Gift Market at Piedmont Community Church has made a difference. Nearly $600,000 has been raised for local and global charities. Starting Sunday, December 7th the Market is once again open for business. The Alternative Gift Market lets participants honor a family member, friend or colleague by purchasing a gift that truly keeps on giving, helping to lift the lives of people in the East Bay and in places around the world.
For example, for the price of an iPad, a well can be constructed that brings clean drinking water to a village of 300 in Malawi. What you might spend on a ticket to a Warrior’s game can provide protective clothing for medical personnel caring for Ebola patients in Liberia. What it takes to buy a couple of cups of coffee at Peets can provide prenatal vitamins to an expectant mom in Oakland.
Describing the reason for the Alternative Gift Market, Senior PCC Pastor Bill McNabb says, “it gives us the opportunity to care for more than just our family and friends at Christmas. We can bring life-giving aid to people who are in desperate need.”
