• Girl Scout troop hosts garage sale fundraiser on Sept. 27 (piedmontexedra.com) — A local Girl Scout troop of mostly Piedmont teens is holding a garage sale fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 27, just a few blocks from Piedmont Park during the Harvest Festival. Residents can browse vintage clothes, toys, sports gear, and handmade items while supporting the girls' Gold Award ambitions and community service projects that have already benefited Piedmont and the broader East Bay.
• Highlanders fight to compete at key invitationals (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont High's cross-country teams are grinding through early-season invitationals, with Highlander runners turning in solid performances at the St. Mary's and Ed Sias meets. The girls' squad, short one runner, couldn't score as a team but still earned praise from their coach, and both teams now look ahead to the De La Salle Invitational in Concord on Sept. 19.
