Big-Rig Crash Briefly Closes I-880

The roadway cleared by 8:29 a.m., according to the CHP.

All the northbound lanes of Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland had to be closed down briefly this morning after a crash involving a big-rig truck, according to the CHP.

The crash was reported at 6:51 a.m. on northbound Highway 880 just north of the 29th Avenue on-ramp in Oakland, with debris and chunks of tire blocking parts of the roadway. At 7:57 a.m. all northbound lanes were closed while a heavy-duty tow truck removed the big-rig from the scene.

The roadway cleared by 8:29 a.m., according to the CHP. No injuries were reported, but damage to property did occur, according to the CHP.
