James Ormond is a co-captain this year on the High School men's basketball team. He is a strong post on offense and has a huge presence as a defender. James has been playing basketball from teh beginning of his high school career and has really grown and met his full potential in this sport.

James brings energy to the court whenever he plays. As a co-captain, he aims to encourage and help all his other team mates to be the best player they can be. He is a very valuable player to the team, and many of the other teammates look to him for guidance.

When asked how he motivates his team to do well, James responded, "Positive energy and never backing down motivates both me and my teammates to play hard everyday."  

This season the Piedmont High School team has joined a new division, playing new teams that are more challenging than last year, stated Ormond. James loves having the new challenge, though he admits it's been a harder season.

"Overall, the new teams have been interesting to play against," said James.

For this all-star basketball player, the secret to success in basketball, as for any sport, is to practice everyday, all day. James has completely committed himself to the game, and it has proved well!

After high school, James will be attending Carnegie Melon, playing on their division 3 basketball team.
