CHP: Man, Woman Killed in Crash Involving BMW Reported Carjacked in Oakland
The identities of the driver and passenger have not yet been released by the Madera County Sheriff's Office.
A man and woman killed in a car crash in Madera County early Friday morning were driving a BMW reported carjacked in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 2 a.m. as the two were traveling south in the 2008 BMW on state Highway 99 just north of Madera, CHP officials said.
The speeding BMW crashed into the back of a Freightliner big-rig and overturned multiple times, ejecting the car’s two occupants, according to the CHP. They were both killed in the crash. The BMW they were driving was reported stolen in a carjacking in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 3, according to Oakland police records.
The identities of the driver and passenger have not yet been released by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
