CHP Partners with Berkeley Farms to Promote Motorcycle Safety

Berkeley Farms has a fleet of 118 trucks that travel an average of 450,000 miles per month.

The California Highway Patrol’s Golden Gate Division on Wednesday announced a partnership with Berkeley Farms to promote motorcycle safety throughout Northern California. Through the partnership, Berkeley Farms will feature a motorcycle safety logo on company trucks.

Berkeley Farms has a fleet of 118 trucks that travel an average of 450,000 miles per month. The logos will help remind drivers throughout California to share the road, be aware of their surroundings and drive safely, CHP officials said.

Motorcycles are 26 times more likely to be killed in a traffic collision and five times more likely to be injured compared to occupants of a motor vehicle, according to the CHP. More than 5,000 motorcyclists are killed nationwide each year, according to the CHP.
