City Council Tonight: Budget, Taxes, License Plate Readers, Dracena Park Footbridge
The council meets Monday night June 3, at 7:30 p.m.

The agenda for tonight's Piedmont City Council meeting looks short on paper, but several of the items are heavy hitters:
—The first public hearing on the city's proposed 2013-14 budget and the levy of the municipal services tax and sewer tax. Included: a report from the city's Budget Advisory and Financial Planning Committee and a report from Finance Direct Erick Cheung.

A second public hearing and final passage of the budget are sceduled for the city council's June 17 meeting.
—Approval of a $678,613 agreement with 3M for the installation of automated license plate readers at many of the entrances and exits to the city.

—In closed session, discussion of the appointment of a permanent fire chief.
