Crews Responding to Grass Fire in Oakland

The fire has burned about a quarter acre, firefighter said.

Firefighters this morning are responding to a grass fire in Oakland. The fire broke out in the 6900 block of Elverton Drive and is threatening one structure. The fire has burned about a quarter acre, firefighter said.

Crews initially had trouble getting access to the blaze but have been able to start getting water on it. The fire was first reported around 3:30 a.m.
