Escuela Bilingüe Launches Middle School
The independent Spanish immersion school hopes to offer the IB Middle Years Program

Escuela Bilingüe Internacional (EBI), the Spanish immersion independent school located in Oakland and Emeryville, has tripled its enrollment since its opening in September 2006 and is now launching its Spanish/English bilingual middle school.
“This is an exciting time for our school and marks an important step in our development as a school.” says Jon Fulk, head of school.

EBI was authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) last year as an IB World School and offers the IB Primary Years Programme for its 230 pre-primary and elementary school students.
The school will seek authorization to offer the IB Middle Years Program for its Middle School students.

In addition to its Spanish-English bilingual program, students study Mandarin as a third language.
Prospective students entering 6th grade in 2012 wishing to attend EBI need to be motivated students and have grade level fluency in Spanish.
