Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland welcomes Chana Wilson to the store to celebrate the publication of her new memoir, Riding Fury Home, on Thursday, April 12th at 7pm.
Riding Fury Home chronicles forty years of the intense, complex relationship between Wilson and her mother. From the homophobic intolerance of the '50s to the exhilaration of the women's movement of the '70s, Wilson traces the profound ways in which her and her mother's lives were impacted by the social landscape of their time. Exquisitely written and devastatingly honest, Riding Fury Home is a powerful story of healing, forgiveness, and redemption. "Through sharing her personal tale of forgiveness and unconditional love, Wilson breaks the silence on the trauma of oppression and the ecstasy of self-acceptance" - Publishers Weekly, starred review.
Chana Wilson is a writer and psychotherapist, and the former host of the KPFA radio program A World Wind. Her work has been published in the journals The Sun, Sinister Wisdom, and Roadwork, as well as in numerous anthologies. She lives in Oakland.
